Got a small problem with the SV650, a little history going back, when it was MOT'd the guy mentioned it missing every now and again on tick over.

I got it home and changed the plugs and didn't really think much too it as it wasn't affecting the riding or anything.

Until now!!

We've been out most of today and literally had to limp it home, it now misfires so much when u ride it it bunny hops everywhere, back fires and all sorts!!

Where so I start? Take existing plugs out and check them then work back from there?

Plugs > Leads > Coil?

It's a 2001 carb'd SV if that makes any difference? We've tried running some super unleaded through it to no avail so that's what makes me think its spark related??

Common problem with the sv. Usually its water down the plug recess and causes the spark to short out. Try taking out and get some wd40 down there.

Or it could be the plugs are on the way out

Yeah it does seem to be pretty common. I have heard that fitting a fender extender goes a long way to solving the issue.

Timing? Aren't the cam chains on these notorious for going wrong?
