Hoping its the first Laughing

As you need a car licence to drive a quad I imagine it's the latter.

Don't, just don't...

No LSD so can't corner on tarmac worth a shit, plus it'll make you look like you were too retarded to pass a bike test.

put anyquad up against any commuter bike and they are slow, they sound fast cus they are geared for about 50mph and 6 gears, a commuter twin would have legs on one.

Also true to be honest Laughing Think its just the novelty factor of being sat on something i dont have to put my feet down on but feels like a bike etc, should probably have a test ride before squandering more money on a senseless toy might not even like them on road as sako said, only had a dirt-day on one before

best to try it, you'll probably hate it as it doesn't lean and feels like it's trying to bounce you off on every corner.

Don't see the appeal of a quad at all to be honest..

only time it would be sweet is in the snow (if it's an offroad style)

It certainly wouldnt be a preferencial thing to the bikes either way, just a bit of novelty fun Laughing But need to have a more realistic delve into it rather than just getting interested in the daydreams about how great fun it seems as a prospect Rolling Eyes

You do not need any kind of licence or insurance to ride one, or so it seems with the lads that tear around with open pipes around here Mr. Green .

I must admit i do find it absurd you need a car license to ride one Laughing

I rode a bike for 6 years before i bothered doing my car test, by the end of that 6 years even though i had plenty of experience with gears/clutch/brakes all in the same position to a quad i was deemed inexperienced and had to sit behind a wheel with foot pedals to apparently learn to ride a quad Rolling Eyes lack of sense much...

One of my managers was killed last month in Ibiza on one of those. Very unstable things, think I won't touch them with a barge pole if I'm honest...

Got a poser near me who loves to try and look cool with no lid and a tshirt and shorts...
.......fail.

No better than a shirtless yank on a hog.
Personally I'd rather something along the lines of a busa engined kit car. Or that sharp lookin motor G posted a while back (White with black wheels, but can't remember what it's called).

If you buy it OP. At least wear a lid.

we get road legal ones coming to our track

we have now banned them as the owners all seem to be dickheads who cant ride the track, and just want to do doughnuts in the paddock area and ride up and down the hill to this area pulling wheelies up the hill Twisted Evil

i found it really funny when one who refused to pay saying he was watching fell off and ruined his (in his own words)two grand paint job Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Laughing

Wouldn't dream of not wearing a lid on it if i do go and get one, i'd be leathered up like i am on the bike Laughing

I would prefer a kit car also its just the storage space/extra money if i dont get a bit hands on with it myself and i'm not all that good with cars mechanically beyond the basic service tasks Thumbs Down

This. I ride a Honda Foreman 500 quite regularly, it's only a utility quad but its still quite quick.

It is fun:

Off road
On road when it snows
On road when it's icy

It is not fun:

The rest of the time! Honestly, the are twitchy and handle like shit on tarmac.

Put the money towards a track bike and tyres instead.

Really resent people living in a lot of European countries when it comes to offroading, its so bogged down by all the health and safety and regulations over here.

Was speaking to a polish mate at work he was saying you can pretty much go steaming off into the woods anywhere you like over there if its not a tourist spot and do what you like - bike, quad, 4x4 or whatever, and same with most of the surrounding countries. Quite tempting to book a cheap holiday and something over that way one summer.
