Talking about his accident (foot crushed by a Volvo) and 'Ridiculous' laws that leave young bikers at risk (Channel TV Headline) I wish he'd brushed his hair!

Great, two young bikers advocating the modern ban-culture preventionist stalinism that has helped turn the human experience into one big yawn.

Firstly, why does it matter what cc he was riding if his foot was crushed by a Volvo... as in not his fault?
Secondly, if he and his friend didn't seem like such gormless fools then I would be slightly more sympathetic. As if passing a simple test means you will no longer be a young lad who wants to go fast on his new toy, L plates or not.
Thirdly, I want to move to Guernsey if 17/18 year olds can get good enough jobs to buy newish 1200cc bikes and insure them. My point is, how many of these kids had their bikes paid for my their parents. Did you as a responsible parent do the token nagging/worrying about whether your kid is wearing at least the basics of gear?
Last, | Quote: | In December last year, 18-year-old Joseph Manning died after his motorbike collided with a car on Forest Road.
Prior to the accident he had been doing 84mph. |
I had an accident 2 months ago, prior to the actual collision, I was riding at a lot more than 84 mph, more like 134mph. When the actual collision happened I was doing about 20-30mph. ____________________ Previous: GSF600, FZR600 x2, ZXR750, XT600 Tenere, CB125, CZ125, ETZ 250, ER5, CCM R30, DRZ400, RF600x4, RF900x2, GS500, VTR1000F, 640 SMC, CB250 NIGHTHAWK, GT550x3, GPX750 TE610, CB500, X11x2, SV650, ZING 125, TL1000R,CB250 Superdream, CBR1100XX |

I understand he was asked leading questions - as was Corie. However, I did think it a bit incongruous, my 17-year-old taking about 'young kids today'. I guess 14-year-olds on 50's do look young to a 17-year-old. ____________________ Current Carz: Jeep Liberty, Kia Sorrento Diesel

I dont know what to say about this one.
If the maximum speed limit anywhere in Guernsey is 35 mph then why do people need bikes that go so fast? Then, why let kids loose on them?
If I had my way I would change the law and not allow people bikes bigger than 50cc until they are 25. Too far? Probably, but you get what Im trying to say.
Riding a bike is a priviledge and not a right, so why are these kids allowed to ride such powerful bikes. I passed my test 12 years ago and have lots of road experience and I dont ride a bike as powerful as that, through choice! ____________________ Many Thanks

It doesn't.

I know. I don't have a problem with people riding on a Provisional either, if they renew it every two years they need to take a 1-hour DA to get it validated. An inspection and feedback on your riding skills by a professional instructor every two years doesn't sound bad to me if you are a 'new' rider.

Are you asking me? My kids wear helmet, gloves and jacket all year round. They paid for their own bikes. Insurance is a little different here compared to the UK, obviously no 14-year-old could get insurance on a 50 in the UK. Even with my son's 3 years NCB he wouldn't be able to get insurance on a 1200cc. Lots do for a 600.

My last accident was at 10mph and (eventually) put me in hospital for 3-weeks.
Joseph overtook slow moving traffic and collided with a car turning right across his path.

He can't walk
Walking = exercise
He will gain wait, fucking tool |
The amount of effort required to use crutches and eating a good diet and I've only put on 2kg over 2months of not walking. There are other ways to exercise. Putting weight on is obviously a terrible idea as then you put more strain on your weakened foot.

Every bike and car should be restricted to 70mph
BTW: Why they call the car "Volvo" and not just a "car"?
And why they say it was a car and not driver who crushed the rider's leg? ____________________ MCForum meetup - One of the biggest motorcycle clubs in UK |

Sure, I get it. You'd take my only mode of transport from me. Fortunately, as I'm not beholden to you, you don't have that power.

They're not children.

I passed my test one year ago and I'll buy and ride whatever I bloody well please, because I am not a slave to you.
Your sentiment strikes me as rather odd mainly because you'll derive no real benefit from enacting such a policy. I can understand wanting to restrict others' rights if it'd make you better off. Kill a few rabbits, sell a few skins.
But you'd curb my livelihood. And for what end? Mmm. Evil, indeed. |

I'll slag your kids off over the internet and see how you like it, bet he wouldn't have said that to OP's face |
