after a cock up between mce and close premium finance, they charged me an invalid fee (not signed and returned) this was later refunded, apparently they refunded me 2 x 15 pound instead of one, in MARCH, they have asked me to return 15 pound within 7 days, surely i do not have to ? otherwuse they would increase my next direct debit to recover this ? they have not done that so i am correct in thinking i can just laugh at them?? cheers

No.

Yes, they made a mistake and they have realised. So they want their money back.

they will take it no matter what you do, but you could say that there is a £50 admin fee for doing so. Laughing

they took 4 months to give me mine back???? i do not understand how i am responsible for their own incompetence ? at the time i assumed they paid twice to compensate for the 4 months it took to return it to me, do i really have a leg to stand on? should i just pay this money (not within 7 days, but 4 months like they did to me), cheers

Definately return their hard earned money.

Just make sure they're aware theres a 9.99 administration charge for your very valuable time. and a 5 pound postage charge for the penny they will recieve. Karma

I would also inform them of the unnecessary but totally required admin fee of £50.

Would be interesting to hear their response if you say you've spent their 15 pounds to the penny - have since become unemployed and have no intentions of getting a new job having found a care-free life in the forest living off the woodland.

Further more your phone contract is about to expire and invalidate the sim-card, meaning should they wish to make further contact they will have to send a representative to said-woodland for a face to face.

Just make up some bull story about how you invested the 15 pounds in shares and need to pay your accountant fees to get the money back as you're clueless Laughing

No, not as retaliation.

It is simply your fee to process the payment to them, you have to contact bank/write check/phone them/ whatever. You are putting yourself out just like when they charge you £30 to go to all that trouble of changing a reg number or your address.

definitely say you need to charge an hourly rate for it. it will take your own personal time for their mistake.
which is what they charge you to alter something minor when it's your mistake. shouldn't be rule for one rule for another surely?

Definitely tell them you have an admin fee. It'll stump the guy on the phone, big style.

Only problem is, how will you enforce it? I have no idea about this kind of thing. It definitely sounds legit - I mean yeah, insurance companies do it all the time! - but how does a bog standard person charge and enforce it from home?

Good luck Karma

Just remember to inform them you are recording the telephone call before you can discuss any business dealings.
As long as they agree to being recorded first!

You didn't think to ask? Just grit your teeth and pay them back.. It's only £15.00.

Remember to inform them of your fee, lets say £20, and get their agreement to that, if they don't agree verbally inform them that if they persist in asking for the money you will assume they agree to your admin fee.

Also any subsequent replies to their letters requesting these amounts will incur further admin fees of £20 per reply, a phone call will cost £20 plus 10 per hour pro rata. Any attempts to take the money by dd will be in breach of the direct debit guarantee and you will write to the dd people and report them for breach if the agreement.

You can and will take this matter to court if required to recover your fees.

They will back down as a gesture of good will trust me!
