So bought all my gear today, waiting on a phone call from the dealer to say to come pick up my bike. Eventually with a bit of um and ahh-ing, finally settled on a Honda CBR 125.. £2,600 happier than a pig in sh*t.

Brand new 13 plate, finance - cant really complain got a few wee extras - top box, pillion pegs taken off, 7 days insurance aswell.

Just waiting on the dealer phoning to tell me to come pick it up.

Only thing with the gear is I dont have the trousers as they didnt have any mediums in.

I got a bank loan as it was better for me, forget spending 2.6k on a 125, you can get much better bikes for that monies, and they are going to throw in taking off the pillion pegs Laughing they saw you coming miles off.

£2,600 looks to be quite a good price for a new cbr, a quick search showed them at over £3k Shocked I seriously doubt I'd ever pay that much for a 125, but then I don't have to Laughing

Nay sayers say nay, but that's a decent price for a new CBR125. People pay just a bit less for CBF125s with random build quality.

Enjoy it, rubber side down, and all that.

In that case it's a bit pricey, MCN quotes them at £2,420 new. So you paid £180 for a £30 pannier, 10 minute job on the pegs, and you some useless insurance, not good Crying or Very sad

Have you actually handed over the cash? I'd be going back saying "I've read this..." and haggling about some free gear at least.

Deffo room for negotiation them Very Happy

https://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/searchresults/Bike-Reviews/Honda/Honda-CBF125-2009-current4/ From MCN, they're normally about right, but better deals can be had.

https://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/125cc/#!/cbf125/?s3campaign=Bikes_SEM_M_EN_EN_Models__+_Brand_Exact&s3advertiser=Google_PPC&s3banner=buy_honda_cbf_125From Honda itself, the most expensive option, and even they are offering £100 cash-back.

You can even get a finance deal for the same as you paid:

Go bank loan and second hand

that way IF it all goes tits up you lose job/wife/kittens you can sell the bike and pay off the loan, the same as if you don't pay it you don't lose the bike.

£2600 for a bike that's currently £2600... with £100 cashback?

Well, they are putting on £50 (trade) of top box and rack and spending 60 seconds throwing the rear pegs in there. Very Happy

It's not a crazy buy, but I do agree that you can get better for that money.
