I had a delivery to make to the European Commission in Luxembourg on monday so left friday morning to turn it into a bit of a jolly.

I had to collect it from bristol and then on to ashford for the tunnel which was suffering from 90 minute delays due to an 'incident'.

Arrived in Calais about 5pm and headed to Lille for the night in an F1.

Saturday morning on to yutz near thionville, France where I'd booked another F1 for sat and sun night for the grand sum of about £50.

Travelled via mons in Belgium for lunch and through Luxembourg.

Sunday I has a nosy online for stuff to do and found a ww2 fort not far away near veckring. Hackenberg fort.

Well worth a visit if you are out that way, the visit is done via a tour which is mostly on foot but includes a 4km underground train ride further into the fort which is built into the mountain.
The tour is over 2 hours and it is really properly damn cold in there even when it's 30c outside.

You can choose your favourite language from English, French, German and possibly others and go with the guide who takes you on the very informative but relaxed tour.

Monday was an early start to make the delivery in Luxembourg, breakfast the continental way and on to Brussels and the atomium for a photo op.

Pop into the hein gericke shop in Blackenberg on the north Belgian coast before heading back to the tunnel and back to blighty and home.

1100 miles covered and I even learnt some new stuff.

A few snaps below and a link to the album if you fancy a nosy.

That's good, but you didn't let people know you were doing a Charity ride. Laughing

Excuse my ignorance , but what is an F1 ?

I`m guessing that it is some type of cheap accommodation ?
Please do tell.

I live in Mons. Not the most exciting place to live in, I know.

If you ever get stuck in the region, you can always reach out to me (I have a garage and tools etc)

Thank you.

I do pass by quite often but only ever stopped once a few weeks ago and had a meal at a place on the edge of the Market of herbs (english translation) in the center of Mons.
