Dear everybody,

My name is Nguyen, I have just bought a secondhand GSR600 2007.
As of last week, the engine stalls often (Side stand is not down, gear in neutral, kill switch is off, pulled clutch lever in. there is a slight electrical noise when key is first turned in the ignition. All lights come on and there is the needle sweep when the starter button is pressed, the engine is not starting. Messanes displayed on ODDO are:

- messange displayed at the space for speed is (-);
- messange displayed at the space for odd is "CHEC"

After minutes of trying with kill switch and ignition key I could get the engine fire again. However, its is very annoying because this situation occurs a few times a day.

Could you please give me your advice on what happen to my bike and how to fix this problem.

Thank you very much for your assistance and look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Nguyen

When you say the engine is not starting, do you mean that it's not cranking or that it's cranking but won't fire?

CHEC means that the engine is not ready to run. Usually means the stand is down, or the bike thinks it's down because of a faulty switch. Another reason could be the red engine run switch, prone to faults on Suzukis. With the ignition on, turn the run switch off then on again, you should hear the pump prime. If it doesn't either the switch is faulty or it's feed is interrupted by the alarm/immobiliser. If the bike has an alarm fitted, most likely that's the reason.

My Suzuki shows CHEC when the ignition is on and the killswitch is engaged.

Check that one very carefully for water ingress or dirty contacts.
