So I've just passed my mod 2 on my first try with only 1 minor (It could've been a clean sheet, the minor was not indicting left on a spiral roundabout when taking first exit). But yeah, that's it for 2 years now (on 35kw restriction), well chuffed as there was so many times during the test I thought I'd failed, and when she said "You've passed" I was like "What? Are you sure? I was certain I'd failed" and she said "No, that was a really nice ride".

Now to start shopping for a big bike, I'm thinking of getting an SV650S and restricting it, the restrictor might accidentally fall out after a couple of months, these things happen you know, they just rattle out.

Just as a point - your 35kw restriction is forever not just for two years. The two year thing is how long you now have to wait until you can take your unrestricted test.

Anyway - Congratulations on the pass! Thumbs Up

Yeah, that's what I meant. I didn't really make it clear in the OP but I did mean that ;p

What would you recommend otherwise? I was torn between the SV650S and the ER-6F, there's not a whole lot in the A2 that are anywhere near decent =/

There are plenty.

DRZ400, KTM690 (or 390 to be on limit), ER6, Bandit.

It is a shit law, it cuts off the mid level 600 sports... but still, either of the above will be fine, especially if the restrictor falls out.

Congrats.

Don't understand all this Mod 2, restricted this and that shite. When I were a lad, if you could ride a bike round the block without falling off or killing a pedestrian, that was it. Full license and off you get on your Laverda Jota, assuming you were one of the 7 people in the country who could afford one in 1986 Laughing

Not sure there's any point in all this ridiculous multiple tests carry on, except making those parasites in govt. a bit more money they can then squander giving tax cuts to the wealthy.

Not indicating at a roundabout's only a minor? I was told that's a major when learning to drive Confused

It wasn't a normal roundabout, it was one of those multi lane spiral roundabouts, where you choose a lane and it takes you to the correct exit etc.

That would have been funnier!
Seriously tho I would like to say well done but as of january this year a group of wankers called the government changed the test procedure so that you have to take another one to ride something faster legally. So good done mate, enjoy the biking.
