PostPosted: 13:39 - 03 Sep 2013    Post subject: You lack the ability to park! Reply with quote

So a month ago I parked up outside my house as I do only to come out the following morning to see a Toyota 4x4 reversed right up against my bike and has moved my mirror because of this (also scratching his car a bit). I haven't seen his car before so think nothing of it and assume I will never have to encounter the idiot again...

This morning I go outside to my bike to find that he has parked right up against it so I basically can lift it up without touching his car. This pisses me off so I go up to my bike to take off the disk lock and wheel it into my back garden and then see that the lock is jammed up against the fork... HE MOVED MY BIKE! (I think it was him)

What can I do?

Here are photos of the space after I moved my bike and a photo of his scratched car from the first encounter.

You can go on a motorcycle forum and whine about it.

Keep the bike in your back garden then you won't have to do the above.

Fit an alarm? It's usually enough of a disincentive to stop most people from sodding about with a bike.

On the alarm point, you could buy a rape alarm and attach it to something under his car, then tie a fishing line to the puller on it and tie the other end to a nearby drain or your bike or something.

He will be followed by an annoying whistling alarm all the way to work or wherever.

Probably wont do much good for the parking situation, but if you were somehow able to watch the frustration while he tried to locate the noise it would be very worth it.

Move to some place where people actually talk to their neighbours rather than shafting them over a few inches of kerb space?

You know fine well what you have to do: catch the culprit in the act and take appropriate action, depending on whether you fancy your chances.

Nobody else is going to do it for you. I'm really not sure what other answer you'd expect.

pull his wipers up and move his mirrors would make a point, bike gone, wipers up and mirrors folded back, not damage them.

Might, possibly make the driver think about moving your things.
But then, you do ride a bike so how dare you park it on the road.

Why not have an alarmed disc lock?

Then when it goes off and he panics and drops your bike you'll have even more of a reason to smash his face in Mr. Green

Or talk to him. Tell him to leave your shit alone.

Lay your bike on the floor gently so as you don't damage anything tuck a wheel under his car then Take his reg and a picture of his car with your bike under it.

Show him the picture and say "touch my bike again this is going to your insurance".

He will eventually knock your bike over and drive off by the sound of it, at least you will already have evidence to put in a claim against his insurance for any damage to your bike when he does.

I would also start parking lengthways so he can't get in at all, being considerate and parking diagonally to make space is pointless if he is going just bump your bike anyway.

Also from the pictures it looks like you must have been parked awfully close to the other car yourself, are you sure that he isn't just making a point to stop you parking so close to the other car (perhaps it is his spouse or something), same way people have suggested you get him blocked in.

Get down the builder's merchants for a tin of spray glue.

Print off in A4 , Arial black, bold, centre-justified font 72 or swhatever fits.

YOU PARK
LIKE
A
CUNT

Spray front of printed paper, spray windscreen in front of driver, wait a minute for it to tack off then apply paper to screen.

Hide bike.

I think this is what I'll do. Have to get the good old "CYCLONE V2" and when it goes off, run out with a baseball bat to ask him politely to leave my bike alone!

Love the other ideas though! Thanks guys Mr. Green

He has a large car which means he has a small cock which in turn means his bollocks will be less protected when your foot makes contact. Thumbs Up
