Gilera dna 125CC

Hey peeps, a tad new to the forum, and looking for some help if possible.

I recently purchased, at what I thought was a brilliant price, a Y plate, Gilera DNA 125.

Since I received it, I haven't even been able to get her on the road, as firstly the exhaust blew off! yes, literally OFF!

I've fitted a new one, along with a Raging Bull battery.

Now the battery is draining rapidly, and what we did notice, is the cooling fan kicks in almost immediately after attempting to turn the bike over.

Once I switch the ignition off,. even if she fails to start, on comes the fan....

Anybody, any idea how to resolve this?

Not familiar with the DNA but it sounds like the temperature sender might have packed up. It's a thermo sensor that is either in the cylinder head, the rad or part of the cooling sytems pipes and normally has just one wire coming off it. As the water in the engine gets to a certain temp, this sensor sends a signal to the rad switch to start the rad.

It may be the case that the wire has come off and is shorting out somewhere.

Here's where the sender is, have a good look at the wire and make sure it's not caught anywhere.

They are 'different'.....but i think the best of both worlds for a city commuter . safe front end and scooter engine transmission placed low down .

They make CG 125's and clones look agricultural .

you should try riding a type 1 Cg , or Lifan 125 drum braker to feel the danger , or try a honda cable disc?
a good front tyre and serviced shocks always helps . On the DNA the tyres look smaller and fatter , but changing to wheels is difficult cos of the scooter transmission . Try a new custom front end?
