 |
|
New jacket bought in the HG sale, tis exactly what I want jacket-wise being waterproof and fitting how I want it to fit except it's a little tight on the arms when I've got a thin hoodie on under it.
I know leathers are meant to fit like a second skin, but should textiles be a similar fit?
It's not un-comfortable, but it's not as comfortable as it could be ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

I prefer a nice snug fit. I also found that wearing a hoody over the top was nicer |

If it's there some thermo liner in it, then take it off. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

I'm as skinny as a rake apart from my torso where I'm going one better than a 6 pack and working on a keg.
I will be zipping to textile trousers, unfortunately it's got a long zip and my current trousers are short zip but they are worn so need replacing.
There is a thermal liner which is in at the mo, wanting the warmth and waterproof the jacket is offering. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

My textile jacket is super tight and feels a bit of a bastard but I imagine it will stay in place should I ever come off. That's the theory, at least. ____________________ Bike: 1993 CB400 SuperFour - 1999 Yamaha FZS600 - DAS passed 7/11/13 - Working my way towards a Yamaha FZ1. |

I would eBay it and get a bigger one.
If you're on here asking then is not comfortable enough and you don't want to be thinking about your jacket all the time. |

Lowut?
Bought jacket in shop that doesn't fit then asks BCF if its comfortable or not?
Dont be a lemon, try stuff on & buy it if its comfy. If its not, dont buy it! You dont come on here to ask if your new trainers fit right, you dont come on to ask if you should get a medium t-shirt or a large - bike clothings no different
Helmet fitting is a different story entirely. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

I've yet to actually sit on the bike wearing it to check for comfort in a riding position.
I'm asking for advice on fit as I wasn't sure if it should be a snug fit to ensure padding etc is held in place or not, I'm good on T-shirt fit and shoes however. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

Pic heavy....
Yeah, but how can anyone be expected to comment without knowing exactly what jacket?
This is a loose fitting textile jacket;

This on the other hand is a tight sporty cut;

With any jacket, you try it on, check the elbow and shoulder pads are where they're supposed to be, check if its comfy and then buy it.
You're not sure if thats the right size? Well try a size up. Feel any better? No? Try a size down then, go from there. Tisn't rocket science
I strongly suspect you went to the shop, grabbed the first thing you saw that you could get on and bought without trying a few different sizes in the same model on. Every jacket fits differently depending on the way it's designed, the style etc. It's utter nonsense to say "textiles fit loose and leather skin tight" it's just not that simple!
You wouldnt expect a leather jacket like this;
https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/product_images/spada_jackets_cruiser.jpg
to fit as tight as one of these;
https://i.ebayimg.com/t/FURYGAN-TWO-PIECE-MOTORCYCLE-LEATHER-SUIT-GAY-LEATHER-BLUF-RACING-LEATHERS-/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjE1/z/RlEAAOxyKh5R-qhO/$T2eC16d,!ygE9s7HKK5lBR-qhNz7Uw~~60_35.JPG
Would you?
What a jackets made from has absolutely no bearing on the way it's meant to fit. I'm very very confused by this threads existance, what you're actually asking and even more so by some of the replies ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.
