It seems in most countries you can just pay the track owner so you can practice all day...It doesn't seem to happen in the UK though Sad

I just want a place to practice, Hampshire or close enough, and not get in trouble for it.

Last time I practised in a car park I got a Section 59..So can't risk it for another 10 months.

Police always make out you're a idiot for riding fast in public when you can ride on private land for 'lunch money' yet they don't actually know anywhere...Always know best.

Anyway, any ideas?

You and me both dude. My local kart track, ellough raceway, wont share their goodness with two wheels either.

And what i consider to be my private SM carpark, which is normally a huge Pound Coin rip off=empty, is currently free due to road works nearby for months=full.

Found another smaller one which just needs 10sqm of glass sweeping up. Might show up in van and High vis sat morning and sweep.
Head back in eve and have a hoot on the tiddler. Or not.

Very densely populated, NIMBY and tabloid politics mean the UK is pretty bad for anything like this.

After a long think of where I could rag my bike, on tarmac, without worrying about it being 'anti social' I've come up with...nothing.

What's more annoying is the new forest has plenty of old concreted and tarmac areas which with a few cones would be amazing, out in the middle of no where too. However I'm about 10000% more likely to be reported in the forest thanks to the forestry commission and local public placing 'youfs' on the same level as fly tippers and deer hunters. Evil or Very Mad

You're right, they do pit bike races so i'm sure wouldn't mind supermotos.

It's quite a tight track but quite flowing, I've only been once but it was good (140 SM pit bike). Was only about £25 for the whole day.

That's perfect for me then, only got a 125 at the moment.

Still saving for my track project so the DT will have to do till then, working out if I can fit goldspeed's if I set the rim off center...

Anyway thanks again, going to see if I can spend a whole weekend there Laughing

Various tracks will do supermoto trackdays.

Expect a DT125 to be a little outclassed, as I'm afraid yours isn't that not that 'super'. However, if you can make a decent effort around the corners, you should be ok (not sure how limiting the suspension on the DT will be.)

If a track doesn't run supermoto specific trackdays, I doubt they'll want to mix full size bikes with pit bikes, but can't hurt to ask, I suppose.

I'm sure it would be, but my skill is no where good enough to justify having a outright track bike...yet.

Just spoke to matchams and they had no problem allowing use in between races etc providing the noise can be brought down to bellow 96db...bollocks.

Anyway, was recommended this https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=280297
And I have to say...It's a good deal.

Same at most tracks across the country, varies between 96 and 98 usually

I've had bigger bikes with loud exhausts that are under 98db... your DT shouldn't be much cause for concern.

There is an off road kart place I ride past when I'm greenlining. Sick <<

I've been trying to find a small holder or farmer giles type, with a spare acre or two that'll let me mess about off road, no luck so far, could even pay a modest fee, but still trying to find somewhere.

I'd be up for an SM day with us low powered users on our average-motards.

My TTR with some good rubber and stiffer forks should be alright with me dawdling around.

I prefer mud, but any riding is good riding.

I like your thinking Fladdem Thumbs Up

Ok thanks Paddy, the guy at the track seemed to think it'd be way too loud although he probably thought I meant a YZ 125. I did some research and found that 2 stroke noise travels half the distance of a 4 stroke due to higher frequencies so could be less of a issue compared to their pit bikes.

A few questions, will i be expected to have any of the following:

full leathers? I've currently got leather trousers and a textile jacket.
a bottle thing to catch petrol/oil?
Crash bobbins?

This place in Lincolnshire is pretty good if you just want to be left to it to practice.
