Exhaust spring tool

I know you can get them on ebay but any DIY ideas? For the Ducati ones some pliers worked easily but the new ones that came with the exhaust are so damn tight!

String! Loop a bit over each end of the spring, tie it in a loop then tie it into a looseish loop. Put a screwdriver inside and twist until it compresses the spring fully.

You should be easily able to get it over if it's big enough. If not, file the ends off the hooks.

Last time I tried a coat hanger it either bent or broke, a ring end of a spanner worked until I realised I could'nt take the spanner out
