i got a honda cg a while ago, and someone pointed out it was making a vibratey ticking sound when it gets revved, which ive now started to notice a lot more...my GS125 never did it, and i took it into the dealer and the technicial said its normal...but im still a but concerned..its makes the normal engine noise (you know theone...) but over the top is the very quick and high pitched 'ticktickticktick'...

any idea what it is/if its anything bad?

Most likely just the pushrods - CG has a pushrod engine, GS has an overhead cam engine. CG engines make an awful racket, what with them being designed to make fuck all power in a about 1965.

I seem to remember mine doing the same!
its could possibly be tappets being noisey, which could be if your oil is low (try and fill it to the max level it makes a little difference)
Otherwise ignore it, its a very old engine design as robby pointed out, check the oil, keep your chain in good condition and if the engine explodes get a replacement Wink
Mine was allot older and was mechanicaly sound, chances are yours will be too.

Keep telling yourself "i will have a better bike after my test"

Yeah should just be noisy tappets, you could probably adjust the clearances but who cares, being a little loose won't do it any harm.

I shouldn't worry about it, the CG engine will go on and on and on.....

i wouldnt worry. its probably more noticable because your friend pointed it out, before you probably heard it but didn't even think about it. try changing the engine oil and if it makes no difference i wouldn't worry about it. i've never heard of a cg blowing up so i'm sure its nothing.
good luck Smile
