 |
|
Leading on from my cheap thread;
I'm looking for a set of good-ish bud type in-ear headphones - those ones they say are noise isolating.
Looking to spend about £50 but can do a bit more if they're sexy enough
I was looking at Sennheiser CX400-ii, I can't buy them from their website and all the ones on eBay are probably fake - I wasn't sure about the Amazon ones, can I trust those sold by Amazon? They seem to have a lot of bad reviews for breaking in various ways!!
Also looked at Nocs NS400 and Beyerdynamic DTX-101iE. Flatbadger recommended Soundmagic E10 and Audiofly AF33.
Again, Amazon good for them or should I find a 'proper' audio dealer of some kind?
I have a varied taste in music but do like some good bass, I listen to RnB and Dubstep as well as pop and rock, not so much for the classical or jazz really.
Also, lots of them say suitable for iPod, iPad, iPhone etc. but none really say suitable for Android - is that just for the call functions? I'll mostly be using it for music and will likely not use it for calls, although a volume or at least a pause button would be handy. ____________________ Trev, now a biker?
Looking for first big bike. |

Ive used many pairs. The cables usually break after about a year. Most have been cheap but also some expensive sony and senhisser shit aswell. Most recent were a pair of skullcandy from tescos, not much good in my opinion.
I also usually repair them if the cable breaks, its easy enough to swap a new cable over from a cheap pair. So the ease of doing this is relevant to me.
By far the best, and longest lasting were a £9.99 pair of phillips that I got from sainsburys. They recently broke, but Ive been too lazy to repair yet but they were easiest to get apart. 2 years out of them is very good considering the abuse the cable gets.
I had a quick look on amazon and SHE7005A looks like the model I had. 15 quids tho |

I've tried various different headphones, - i've currently got some CX300's, a pair of Bose earphones, and these below - Veho Qubve VEP-002's. The Veho's cost about £10 and out perform the Bose hands down for using under my lid on the bike, much comfier, louder and the base is brilliant - cant recommend enough, and for the price they're a bargain.

Also I must mention size. I dont understand why the big brand ones are so huge and uncomfortable under a lid. The phillips ones are a little smaller than the CX300 but much more comfortable as they dont have the metal band round them.
If you do a cable swap you can use epoxy to secure the wire/solder joint. You can make them much much smaller and far more comfortable and it lasts just as long. I think this may reduce the bass a tiny amount but Id say not really noticable. Comfort and cheapness are too good reasons for it |
