You'll need a 90 degree bend for that valve type by the sound of it.
Presumably that's the only tube type they had in stock.

I sometimes wonder why motorcycle wheel valves are designed to be incompatible with 99% of petrol station air compressor lances.

I just bend the air hose end slightly. Three shallow bends spaced an inch apart doesn't kink the metal pipe and gets you a nice curve.

On my way home from work currently sat in a greasy spoon I visit this particular greasy spoon every other Sunday not only to feed on the scrumptious food but to check my tyre pressure as well because they have an air and water machine. The front was down a few psi as normal the rear is the issue. I couldn't attach the hose what fills it with air on to the valve.

The valve has no leverage after lots of head wobbling and screaming it dawned upon me I got a puncture about five days ago and had it repaired so I whipped my torch out in the car park and investigated further I see a small nut on the bottom of the valve is this why there's no leverage preventing me to dock the lucky hose to my valve?

It's part of the EU's Master Plan to get motor bikes off the roads. Very Happy

Hello Pete I tried your theory and it worked so now I have the correct pressure in both tyres. Very Happy

You'll have a tube in the tire and they mostly come with metal threaded valves. Get a 90 degree extension thing for topping up in the future. Makes life a whole lot easier Smile
