went round a roundabout at about 10mph just off my driveway and front wheel slipped out on very heavy frost/black ice. I'm fine bike is so so... no scratches, God bless panniers

the front wheel or the bars or something is out of alignment. Its just a bit off center. so to go straight I have to angle the bars slightly right. Most likely cause and solution?

also bent front brake lever and now the front wheel is stiff to rotate when on centre stand, any ideas?

be careful out there today it's slippy.

Thanks, I couldn't tell from the shiny and wet roads Laughing

Sorry to hear though. For the front wheel, perhaps the brake disk has been pushed out of alignment and binding agains the pads? Check over whole front wheel and fixings.

cheers guys. was fully kitted up. Makes such a difference. In jeans and a light jacket or something id be cut up and bruised to hell.

looks like it is the bars. I'll get a new set ASAP and ride around compensating for a couple days. Just looked out the window and its now all cleared. if id of just left it a few hours...

front brake is a bit of a mystery. Took wheel and rotor off. Both fine. reassembled and Its still there a little bit so I think my front brake is partially, very slightly applied constantly. which would make sense as the lever is a bit bent etc

Thumbs Up for being ok. Proper gear really helps in these situations.

Just managed to get myself back home in one piece too. I left home to get some petrol, with the intention of going for a decent ride. Apart from the roads being wet, they looked fine. However, a couple of miles down the road I noticed the pavements were looking strangely white Thinking So I thought I'd carry on a bit further and see how it played out. The next thing I know is I'm riding in car tracks with sheet ice either side of them. Shocked

So I decide that I should head back home and take the next turn off to turn around and head back. It was only after commiting to the turn that I realised it was an angled slope covered in a thick layer of frozen hailstones Shocked Shocked . Fk knows how I stayed upright, I think my sphincter provided extra grip. Managed to u turn the bike around under some trees that had sheltered the road from the hailstones but was then faced with the problem of having to get the bike back up the sloped hill and round onto the main road. After weighing the situation up and just about to abandon the bike and call for a taxi, I noticed a clear path on the pavement, so backed up until I reached a driveway and gingerly rode it up there up to the main road and got safely home.

I was convinced I was going to kiss tarmac at some point and all I could think of was how much new fairings were going to cost me.

Sounds like you've knocked the forks out of alignment in the yolks.
Loosen the front wheel axle nut and the bottom yolk pinch bolts then bounce the suspension up and down and they should find their alignment again Tighten up all bolts. Then if still out loosen the top yolk pinch bolts and steering stem nut and twist the bars until the top yolk and your bars are in line. (assuming you check for bent bars first).
Remember to tighten everything up!
Glad you're OK.

I'll give this a go when I warm up.

Managed to make the ride from Manchester to London, was shaken up for the first hour or so but settled in after that and wasn't too bad at all. Glad to be home though its bloody cold out there.

Sometimes you can improve things a lot by standing in front + facing bike - astride front wheel.
Grip the wheel with your legs and wrench the bars back towards true.
If things have simply turned slightly in the yokes rather than bent you may not need do much else.
