I am hoping to swap the blue spot calipers on my 5JJ r1 with some gold spots from the later 5PW model.

Can anyone confirm these are a straight swap plz ?

Have tried hunting through google and using the search option on here.
Brick Wall

Cheers. Thumbs Up

Straight fit then. . . . Sweet.

The improved pots in the 5PW calipers are the draw . . that and I found some cheap. lol.

Thanks Paddy. Karma

They made no change other than to swap from SS to alloy in the pistons. You won't notice a difference at all, that and you'll need to flip your brake line 90 degrees Thumbs Up

What's the difference in the piston design?

Just out of interest?

As Paddy says above. Different material used for the pots.

The Golds are generally rated as better calipers for this reason.

If I'm honest I just fancy a change, and it will mean I can swap the blue spots I have on it already with the ones on my T, cat that are in need of serious refurb.

I toyed with the idea on my old R1 as it was black/gold and the only reason I didn't spend £££ is because its something I wouldn't notice you know. Forks and brakes from a later model maybe, but not the calipers Thumbs Up

Only real calipers I've liked and would swap to are the Nissins from the 600RR I had, ballistic braking power.

Fair.

Consider ISR 6 pistons for maximum fappage. Cool
