Hi

I need to replace all 6 bolts that that hold my rear disc onto the wheel

I have been told not to use stainless steel bolts how ever the only bolts i can find that look identical to the original ones are either A2 or A4 stainless steal or high tensile 10.9?

Does anyone know what type of material manufactures use for there brake bolts?

Thanks

10.9 grade bolts will most likely be what is on there from the factory.

Either use the originals, or get new ones from the manufacturer. Not advise I would usually give, but shear strength is important for brake bolts.

As said Buy new steel as stainless is very soft,
I've replaced a lot on a show car and I used stainless on a lot of bits but titanium On suspension etc where it was required.

You are aware that titanium is also weaker than high tensile steel?

It's a lot lighter than steel and it is stronger per unit weight. A steel M8 bolt is stronger than an M8 titanium bolt. An M10 titanium bolt is both stronger and lighter than an M8 steel one.

Titanium parts should ideally be bigger and chunkier than their steel equivalent.
