Mentioned to my work pals I booked a CBT for Sunday morning, took great pleasure in informing me that the weather's supposed to be cack down here over the weekend with Sunday being the worst day... Suggesting I rent a jet ski, arm bands etc...

Not scared of a bit of water but hope the instructor doesn't cancel!

Anyone else do their CBT in poopoo weather?

Where abouts are you? I'm in the Bournemouth area and am going to go & pick up my new bike today, just hope the weather doesn't go to shit.

I don't think the CBT will matter if it's abit wet. Don't worry anyway I think you'd have to do something pretty special to fail a CBT.

Layer up as well, and a thick neck tube or scarf can make the difference between cosy and misery.

Did my renewal cbt in torrential rain. Had a bit of riding experience admittedly by then but you'll be fine. Id get down your local primark or similar and get a pair of thin thermal gloves if you havent got any/your own winter gloves you trust.

Cbt centre gloves can be pretty knackered and shitty sometimes. Last thing you want is a day or cold hands Thumbs Down

My Mod 2 came close to being cancelled due to standing water. I actually think it was helpful in a sense, since you can be a bit more careful without worrying that it's 'hesitating'.

Did my CBT in cold October rain. If anything it'll help convince you to get decent waterproof gear, because after the end of the thing I went home in miserable cold wet clammy clothing and just wanted to stay in the shower forever warming myself up.

Don't know if you remember a few years back Scooter magazine was giving away free Oxford buffs... I used one today to walk home with -20C weather and winds that apparently hit 75km/h. Kept my face and neck toasty warm!

Had mine in January too. Freezing temperature and constant rain, except when it started to hail.

Most of my gear held out pretty well, except the gloves. It was like riding with my hands in two freezing cold soggy sponges. Oh, and my examiner was a cnut too. Sad

Still passed though. Very Happy

My CBT was on a cold sunny day for the carpark bollocks, but when we went on the road part it was monsoon rains. Was not fun as I forgot my waterproofs.

Would you be interested in buying a one-of-a-kind YBR?
