Thought I'd take a little detour on the way to work and got pulled
45ish in a 30 zone. As I admitted it he was happy with a lecture and off we went. Been driving a car 15 years and probably would've been doing the same speed, only been pulled once. Riding a bike 6 months and theyre keen already ____________________ zzr600 |

Where was this? Never been pulled by a panda car, and that's doing some properly stupid things infront of them (speeding, overtaking etc.). Those "random" checkpoint things seem to like me tho. ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)

In not-so-sunny maidenhead. Was probably at the end of his shift and mightve thought I was a yoof on a nicked bike making a run for it as I didn't see him at a roundabout ____________________ zzr600 |

When I got pulled for doing 30 in a 30 on my 125 - "I had to do 50 to catch you!" - my attitude was to laugh out loud until Dibble got bored giving The Lecture and fucked off.
Smart? Oh, no, no, very daft.
Proud of it? Absolutely. I'd cheerfully pay 3 points and £100 for that memory. In the event, I got it for nothing. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Some years back I got pulled for doing 39 in a 40. Apparently only someone who had been drink driving would have obeyed the speed limit on a straight bit of road in the wee small hours. It had nothing to do with the front 4 feet of a jam sandwich sticking out where I could see it, all lit up by the lamp post he had helpfully parked under. |

Out of interest, what offence are you actually committing by sticking a knee down when cornering? (assuming the bike is within the speed limit of course)
I've heard stories of people being pulled for it, but I'm never to sure why! |
Depending on the circumstances, driving without out due care and attention or dangerous driving I would think. Could probably section 59 you if just going round and round a roundabout as well. |
I have no idea how they could claim a lack of due care or dangerous riding from it though! You're in control of the vehicle, observing the speed limit, the rear wheel isn't spinning and the front wheel is on the ground. Also, you can corner lower NOT putting a knee down.
Has anyone ever actually received points or a fine for this? ____________________ Current bike - 2018 H2-SX, 2004 SV1000s, 2016 Aprilia RSV4 RF, 2017 Sherco SERF 300, 2003 Suzuki DRZ400 (stolen - AY53 JUU) |

It's nice to see there are still some coppers out there who realise that sometimes it's more appropriate to give the lecture rather than an instant "you're nicked sonny" with it's attendant points/insurance hike etc. And there aren't any riders stupid enough to give it the back chat when they get pulled anyway, are there
Two examples come to mind. Pulled for speeding, 2 coppers on foot, bald rear tyre - "feel that tyre, warm isn't it; that's how your tyre gets worn like that" !! No back chat, took the lecture, on your way sonny.
130mph on a motorway, wondering why the bike isn't pulling well (750 turbo, low position of air filter meant it caught a lot of crap and needed regular cleaning was the problem) - mate on GPZ1100 just ahead, sudden flash of his brake lights and he disappears behind me; well he was always messing about so ignored it - and flew past a cop car! Did a runner for the next exit, but he caught me on the slip road.
I pull over, he pulls over, mate pulls over behind cop car. The copper went to my mate first: "10 out of 10 for slowing when you saw me, but DON'T YOU EVER CHASE A POLICE CAR AGAIN!!" Mate had done just this when the copper had come tearing after me
Again, no back chat, all suitably humble and apologetic, LONG, passionate lecture and - on your way sonny!
(Flashing my Air Force I.D. probably helped a bit - that seemed to defuse a few such situations somehow - go figure). |

Got pulled over for going too slow once, too
Gants Hill roundabout on my little 50, took the Cranbrook Road turn off, copper waves me in by the bus stop.
"Going a bit slow on that roundabout weren't you?"
To which I just gestured at the bike and then looked at him with raised eyebrows - "yeah, see what you mean, off you go" |
