Anyone owned a Tmec Enduro 125?
What's your experience with them?

I'm assuming they're chinese and not the most reliable machines but they do look okay and the one he's found does seem reasonable for the £475 asking price.

The story:
My friend had his bike (Zontes Panther 125) stolen last week and was only insured third party.

He's found this Tmec Enduro 125, for under £500 (has a budget of £700 and doesn't listen to me when I say get an old CG or YBR if possible, he thinks they look boring) and needs a bike asap for college and work.

He only needs the bike for 6months/4000miles before he turns 19 and does his A2 license.

Thanks in advance, Az.

XR copy, pile of $hit, someone on here had one that fell apart... or maybe still does (have a bolt left). For that money he can get something Japanese, that will definitely do the 4000 miles and last 6 months Smile

I have tried to stress this to him but his argument is that he wants something he'll enjoy owning, looking at and riding.

I then counter with… its chinese it won't last… he typically replies with he's owned a chinese 125 for the last year and a half (10k miles) with no major problems and any problems that do arise he'll most likely be able to fix (trainee motorbike mechanic).

I doubt he'll get anything Japanese branded with T&T for under £500.

I'm OK with Chinese bikes, I'm even semi-seriously thinking of taking on another, but the trail/enduro/SM ones seem to be the ropiest of the bunch.

Add in that (IMHO) they're also more likely to be owned by Daryyyls, abused and neglected, and I would not want to rely on one as a sole means of transport.

The exception might be the Sinnis Apache, and perhaps the Pulse Adrenaline and variants (see spicy110 on youtube), but a TMEC is neither.

cmpo.co.uk don't list parts for it, which would put me off right away.

Well the Tmec just sold, so some other unfortunate soul owns it now, which also means my friend can't buy it (he was planning to go have a look along with the cash tomorrow).

I did find some old SR's and GS's… advertised for £550-£650 mark, so I'm sure the GS owner would take £500 if he waved a bit of cash their way.
