Check the above.

Also try holding the clutch in when you are starting it.

It's kickstart right? Maybe technique.
Try a fast sharp hard kick with control and slow rapidly at the end of the kick, and as mentioned, half choke maybe.

These bikes can be a niggle but very satisfying when you are both as one like ying and yang.

DON'T PANIC!

These are very simple bikes and you will get it going.

First, has it got fuel in the tank? Are you sure?

It appears to have a vacuum operated fuel tap, so we'll skip that for now, unless you can find an obvious lever on it marked PRI (or prime).

Does it not fire at all? If so, check that the killswitch hasn't been tripped. It's on the right hand controls and it should look like this:

https://i.ebayimg.com/t/Kymco-Pulsar-125-Right-Hand-Switch-Gear-/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjAw/z/dHYAAOxyNo9Sovd4/$_35.JPG

You want the switch to be on the setting that doesn't have an X through it.

If your chap got it started, was it warm when you tried to start it?

If so, did he leave the choke on? It looks like the choke lever is on the left hand switchgear, although I'm not 100% confident about that - it could be on the carb itself.

If you can let us know exactly what's happening, we can maybe diagnose it. Does it not fire up at all? Does it stutter but not fire up properly? Does it fire up but then die?
