Hi all. I passed my Mod 1 today! Looking at what bike I'm gonna get for when I pass Mod 2.
I was looking at the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the ER6-F 2014 and this is what I gathered from them both. Bare in mind I'm gonna have to get it restricted for 2 years as I'm under 24.
Ninja 300
Cheaper by almost £1000
Comes in white (I'm really not too keen on the orange and green)
Looks like a better riding position from what I've seen in the videos
ER6-F 2014
More power
Higher top speed (Although it will be restricted for a long time so not sure this really matters)
Can be unrestricted after 2 years so I won't have to buy a new bike if I want to
I'm fairly new to bikes so I'm just looking for some advice on the matter! ____________________ YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/SuperBradio

Oh another thing. I turn 24 in November so I could re-take and get the full A so I don't necessarily have to wait for 2 years . ____________________ YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/SuperBradio

Exactly that.
You won't know what you really want until you've put a few miles on moderate sized bikes. You may find that you want bigger, smaller, more leany, more sit-uppy, more power, more torque. Paying the initial depreciation on a bike to find out what you don't like about it is mental - not much offence intended.
On an A2 you can't get the usual circa 2000 suspects: post-2004 Fazer, Hornet, CBR600F, Thundercat.
So I'd agree with the aforementioned Bandit, or an SV650S if you want something more leany-forwards. Perhaps a GPZ500S, bearing in mind that you'll be at 35kW or thereabouts either way if you're staying legal. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

The Fazer claims over 70kW and so is not suitable for restricting to 35kW for an A2 license. You might get lucky, but that would apply to any bike.
Actually, motorcycle specs lists the 1998-2004 FZS600 at 69.3kW. It's the post 2004 FZ-6 that's 72kW+
Ah, go on then, I shall allow it. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
