I have the Bandit 600 1997 model however prefer the instrument panel of the newer 2000 upwards model. Is it possible to change them? I do believe the newer Bandits have an electronic instrument panel but not sure whether the 1997 model will have the required connections for it to work?

Not really a massive issue and probably won't change it just yet, but just out of curiosity, if in the future I decide to change them, is it do able?

Hi

Probably not likely that they are plug compatible. Is the later Bandits speedo driven from a pickup on the front sprocket cover?

One issue is that if you swap the clocks then any future buyer will suspect the bike has had a hefty crash, and at min will not trust the mileage at all.

All the best

Keith

They are not compatible and the speedo won't work. Mk1 is mechanical Mk2 electronic.

You can likely put on an aftermarket generic one but you'll need sensors and all sorts of other pains in the arse to do it.

Source: I started a thread on it and was told it was a pain in the arse Laughing
