Recently purchased a 1989 NSR125F, previous owner had managed to lose the locking cover that goes over the fuel tank. Is anyone breaking a similar bike or does anyone have one they would sell?

I don't appear to be having any luck with this, if anyone has a similar bike, could you take a picture of the bit in question and the fixings, so that I can see if I can make something to fit.

At the moment I have just got a gaping hole which looks crap.

It is not a cap, the tank is concealed under the plastics that run front to back. There are 2 covers, one fixed with a lock and a hinged piece that lifts to reveal the cap.

I am missing the front piece with the lock.

Have attached a couple of pictures to hopefully clarify the matter.
Apologies for the state of the bike, but it is in the middle of being resprayed.

The bike looks like an NSR125F, mine has the same tank fairings as that bike and I know what part he is talking about, unfortunately I do not have a spare!

Tank is under the plastics, newer bikes have the tank as part of the bodywork. To replace the tank with one off a newer bike would mean having to alter the original plastics to accomodate the tank, which unless done professionally would look crap.
Much easier to just find/make the little piece of plastic to fill the gap.

Hoping that someone out there has got a spare lying around!

Have got something on its way from ebay, but it is from a faired bike with some of the warning lights on it, so not sure how it will fit and whether I will be able to use the lights on it or see the original lights.
