Garaged? Even so, give it a good going over. Check every piece of rubber for perishing, starting with the tyres. Bounce the suspension front and back several times then check for leaks. Does the chain have any links that aren't seized? Do the brakes engage and disengage? Check inside the tank to see how badly its rusted. Check the exhaust for any signs of leaks - it'll have been corroding from the inside out. The battery is presumably junk, check that it hasn't leaked.
The price will be entirely dependent on how much it's needing done to it. It's not worth spending money on, so make sure you won't have to. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

At that age, the plug caps and HT leads might be on their way out.
The rubbers to the airbox also.
Check for corrosion on the exhaust, they tend to crack at the 4-1 rather than rust.
The three 600s and 3 900s I've had, theres never been a problem with rust in the tank, but it's common for them to rust on the inside of the frame. The fairing infill panels usually are cracked by overtightening the screws.
I found the 600s to be a bit iffy starting in the wet, ended up putting vasoline around the seals to the plugs.
I wouldn't pay more than £400 really, it's not that low mileage for that particular model, as they often have next to no miles. After sitting for that long, you might need new tyres.
There is a RF dedicated forum, but it's a bit shit really. ____________________ Previous: GSF600, FZR600 x2, ZXR750, XT600 Tenere, CB125, CZ125, ETZ 250, ER5, CCM R30, DRZ400, RF600x4, RF900x2, GS500, VTR1000F, 640 SMC, CB250 NIGHTHAWK, GT550x3, GPX750 TE610, CB500, X11x2, SV650, ZING 125, TL1000R,CB250 Superdream, CBR1100XX |
