This is why I try and stick to stuff with carbs. However.
Injection systems are electrikery; the actual injector, a mechanical device, is least likely to be the problem... least at this stage.
What is more likely, is that the control electronics dont think the engine needs any petrol, so isn't telling the injector to squirt any.
There should be a throttle position sensor that tells the ECU how wide open the throttle letting air in is; and thses tend to wear, and or get gummed up, or go out of calibration; then there is the trigger on the crank, / cam to tell the ECU when the engines on the suck stroke; THEN there may be the self tuning 'lambda' sensor in the exhaust to tell the ECU whether to up or down the mixture strenth. Possibly one or two others.
FIRST port of call, get the book for the bike.
Then, look at the sensors, and the electrical connectors, and clean every-bludy thing, like book says.
Do simple checks first, like compression and spark; then start worrying whether the injector may be gummed up.
However... quick caution; laid up bikes; engines last thing that needs attension. Before you try to make it go, make sure it will stop! Service brakes; check tyres, steering and suspension. THEN worry whether it makes rorty-nioses.
So, get the book, do all the stuff it says under 'service' items; then follow fault finding tree for the injection system. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
