 Posted: 17:01 - 02 May 2014 Post subject: Cg125 swing arm removal? |
 |
|
Hi everyone!
So over the last two weeks I've been doing some restoration on my old cg125, and the next job is to remove and repaint the rear swing arm.
From what I can see, it's a case of removing the wheel and possibly the chain, removing the brake and lower support arm, and then undoing and removing the massive bolt that runs through the middle and viola! It should just fall off nicely!
I need some sound advice, is it this simple? The bearings and everything else are absolutely fine so I won't be replacing them.
Are there any nasty bits I need to look out for? I.e. Bearings falling out and being a nightmare to refit? Anything at all??
Any help is muchly appreciated
I am quite competent with things like this and I am mechanically minded, but nonetheless..
Thanks |

Yep something like that. There are no bearings to fall out, they are just bushes.
Remove rear wheel, undo lower shock mounts, undo swingarm bolt and tap through it will them come out easy, u don't even need to split chain. ____________________ 07 Yamaha YBR125, 07 Honda CG125 , 15 CBR300R (Chocolate Crank, Deaded), 16 CB500FA, 19 Honda Forza 300, 70 Suzuki SV650 |

You don't need to remove bushes to respray if there OK, just tape up. The torque rod and rubber chain guide and the plasticy seals on each side of bushes is all u need to remove. The one on the chain guide side is the different one so remember that when re assembling, if u mooch through my posts you will seeine that I did, dead easy, I re assembled with moly grease.

I tried as hard as humanly possible to extract my CG's swing arm bearings so don't worry about that |
