Hi people just a quick Q I hope if anyone would know why does my cr125 idle with normal/hardly any smoke but when revved up it chuffs out alot of white smoke!

fuel 32:1 ratio using castrol power 1 racing 2t oil, carb all standard, jets and pretty much factory setted

I'm pretty sure it's not burning the coolant as level has not changed

not too sure about burning gear oil but will be checking the level tomorrow

engine is freshly rebuilt

bottom end has been rebuilt all new oil seals & gaskets etc

new piston and rings and gaskets

pipe re-packed

I haven't actually been able to ride it proper just start it up a few times and last weekend I did literally roll up and down the garden Laughing

OH and the spark plug always seems to be black and wet, just wipes off and the plug is like brand new again

You say that it has been just rebuilt. Is it possible that the person who built it has put 2T oil (as per the process) into the crank on the bearings and on the barrel/piston?

If all you've done is start it up a couple of times and the re_build was done properly, it will smoke like a bastard....

Yeah I rebuilt it, I did drop a little 2t oil on the main bearings and piston rings but I would think that would of burnt off by now

I have just checked the compression cold and full throttle it's coming back 55psi.. I think that's a Thumbs Down

I wouldn't blame bad rings for smoking on a 2T, I'd blame bad crank seals (assuming that you aren't premixing, oil pump is injecting the right amount etc.)

White smoke is usually a sign of water in the system, check gaskets and block for cracks.

If you take the plug out, what does it look like (colour).
