I've got a (non bike related) project going on at the minute that involves quite a lot of pipes which have been took off and re-secured with jubilee clips, I hate them due to how untidy they look and the chunks of skin they take with them when sticking your hand somewhere tight.

Are the any, preferably stainless alternatives that are readily available in sizes from around 10mm to around 80mm?

Cheers folks Thumbs Up

Whats the application?

Theres not much that do exactly the same job. Mikalor Clamps look nicer and have less sharp edges.

You can get eared O-Clips, they are only really one use, and a bastard to get off, jut are smaller and cleaner looking and again have less sharp edges. You need to tool to put them on too.

What's the clip needing to hold? Is it going to be hot, does it need to water or air tight, how easily removable does it need to be, etc etc etc?

Cable ties and gaffa tape for that professional finish. Razz

Those clips are the work of the devil. At least you can undo a jubilee clip completely so that you can split them apart.

I've never had a problem with them, so long as they are orientated in a way you can get some pliers on them.

Cheers for the suggestions, the eared o clips look good for the smaller applications (where I particularly hate jubilee clips) and the mikalor clamps look good too. After 10 years of constant VW ownership, the spring clips will only be used when they were on originally, not by choice!

They're required for a jetski, currently cleaning the hull out ready for the engine, loom and pipework to go back in. Unfortunately I've found the oil tank is split on its seam so I need to look into welding HDPE as its a common problem and will happen again on a new tank.

Cheers all!

O clips. Work like jubilees but one-hit wonders. If you don't intend to take them off again they're perfect.
