OK I know this is going to go in all sorts of directions but I have a simple question.

Is there anything you can / should /should not put on your visor so you can see whilst riding in the rain.

I know I have been riding for a little while but have so far managed to avoid the rain, but I might not be able to soon.
So due to the lack of wipers on the helmet is there something else that helps

Ride above 50mph and turn head both sides.
Use a thumb wiper on your left glove for town speeds.

Got one of those at an auto-jumble. I use it all the time. Works really well.

Based on a recommendation here, I'm currently trying Meguiars PlastX Cleaner & Polish.

Hands will be thrown up in concern at the thought of using an abrasive on polypropylene, but this is actually what it's designed for. As a water repellent, it Works For Me as well as RainX, which is explicitly not supposed to be used on plastics.

Your mileage may vary. It'll probably opaque your visor and kill you, in fact. I'm liking it though.

I've been riding 5 - 7 days a week for the last 18 months, never used anything other than the back of my left glove.

You kinda just see through the rain most of the time, occasionally turning your head to remove the excess, use the suede patch on your glove (that's whats its for Wink ), maybe treat with a rain x type solution.

It's an excuse to speed Wink Go faster and turn your head, rain runs off.

Seriously though, just turn your head or wipe. I find that these things that are supposed to do X and Y with water are a bit of a false economy as you have to keep buying them and at the end of the day... they only work so well. If it's raining, you'll still have to look through the water on your visor anyway, running off or not.
