on a serious note ignoring the racist slant on this story.
if an individual from a group of unsavory characters tries to grab your keys what do you do?
ive had bikes with worn locks that the keys can be pulled out even in the on position.
if you engage neutral and get off and give the guy a kicking what do you do if his friends join in?
what if you take him up the road on front wheel and smear him on the tarmac? with no camera how do you prove he was up to no good when his friends all say you just ran him down.

That could be hard to do on a jacked up bike. My bandit has a jack up kit so I don't have a full flat foot on the floor, just about but I can imagine trying to throw a punch resulting in falling over with the bike to the floor.

I'd would have simply rode away, would have been easy to avoid the traffic if he stuck to the left side of the curb.

Getting off the bike and trying to fight the scum without having any weapon is a bad idea. They might be carrying a knife. It's just not worth the risk in my opinion.
