PostPosted: 14:31 - 25 May 2014    Post subject: Bike shed Motorcycle Club Show ...pic heavy Reply with quote

So I traveled down to the big smoke yesterday to the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club show.
It wasn't very big but it was obviously a certain type of bike so didn't expect much more tbh.

Before anyone starts cutting subframes and putting on drop handlebars and thinking they have a cafe/brat/bobber going on here's a few musts if you want to be in the gang.

Firstly you must have a beard. This is an essential. If you can't grow one forget it, the more weirdy beardy the better.

Secondly make sure your jeans are to long so you have to turn them up.

Thirdly are the full sleeve tattoos on both arms, and possibly a swallow on the neck.

Forthly, for hair you have to have a short back and sides and long and swept back on top. If you don't have this style haircut you can be a pretentious twat and get it cut at the show with everyone watching.

Lastly you must have a job where you can have a big hole in your earlobe so that you can regret doing it later in life.

Overall the show had a nice atmosphere with some decent music and great bikes.

That's about it really. Go get the angle grinder out and destroy a perfectly good bike. The bikes at the show were generally pro customs and looked great, however there were still a few stinkers there. But as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I rate the op post cool because of the words and interesting pictures.

Yet the actual bikes and event makes me feel Sick

OP went so we didn't have to. Took one for the team.

Tried to watch "World's Greatest Motorcycle Rides" a few times but I'm afraid he has the presenting skills of a stone.

Appreciate there's been a lot of work involved but they all look as if they're trying too hard to look cool.

Why does no-one like them? They fecking lovely, all of them. Yes, wouldn't want to own one or do that to my bike but the results are amazing looking....especially compared to the blandness of the stuff we ride day-to-day.

Some awesome looking iron there! (Dibs on the Kawasaki street scrambler!)

Manufacturers need to scrap making new plastic sports bikes, and make all new bikes look this! Thumbs Up

Well done OP for taking plenty of decent pics!

Some nice looking stuff there, but I have difficulty imagining any of them being used. Works of art perhaps, but.... bikes?

The Guzzi trio look awesome, and the bicycles look like fun.

The rest, well...they just look too 'clean', and I found the blank pieces of wood they were mounted upon more interesting solely because they were nice and beige and blank and yet to be thoroughly exhausted of all potential.

If I had a penny for every brand-new and unsullied Belstaff jacket at that event I would likely now be richer than Bill Gates.

Tobacco Dock not far from the Tower of London, which is also well worth a visit I might add.

It just wasn't. Open your mind. I didn't see many hipster types, and only one fixie on the way there.

It was mostly respectable middle aged types in textiles on the Sunday. There were even some kid selling cookies knocking around.

Seemed a pity that that is the life of many of those bikes. Just getting pushed into the back of a van to be taken from event to event. Most of they were in rideable condition. A few stupid tyre choices as can be seen above. Only a handful I would consider owning.

They're all beautiful and I would drag my balls over 1 mile of broken glass just to own any one of them.

I've seen this before in a documentary but had forgotten about it. I will definitely make a huge effort to go next year.

Thanks for the pics. Thumbs Up Karma
