my bike occasionally cuts out when downshifting/ slowing down (when stopping at lights/ junctions etc..)

just found a post on here from yester-year mentioning it could be a badly adjusted clutch

so just checked the barrel adjuster on the bike an its literally wound all the way out Shocked an the bite on the clutch is really far out, (lever is nearly all the way out) but the clutch doesnt feel like its slipping or anything

could the cutting out be a badly adjusted clutch?

hi,
have you tried adjusting it at the other end?
as in, at the engine end. should be able to take up slack from cable (with adjuster on bars set at 1/4 way out)
that will give you back 3/4 of the length of the adjuster, to er......adjust,
cheers,
GAZ

No. It could cause a stalled engine, but you'd know that as it would be dragging the bike forwards and you'd have to hold it on the brakes.
