Starting up my VFR after a long time.

So in September some woman smashed my bike and it was written off Cat C. For one reason or another I've not got round to doing anything with it since then so today I decided to try and start it up. I took the battery off in September and have kept it in the house. I charged it today (although I must confess my patience only got as far as half charged). Stuck it on the bike and all the electrics worked but I got absolutley nothing from the ignition switch. No even a clicking or faint hint of "I might have started on a full battery". Is it simply a case of charging the battery to it's fullest or is there likely to be another issue??

Before anyone suggests it. I did check the kill switch.

They can suffer from a sticky solenoid. Try shorting between the poles on the solenoid with a bit of metal. The starter motor should turn if there is enough juice to turn it.
