I want to attach my Iphone to my bike to use as a satnav, does anyone have any recommendations on a decent holder that is waterproof and wont fall off over the slightest bump?
Cheers |

I'd recommend a RAM mount (got some bits for myself from BuyBits.com - no I don't work for them).
However, not sure if there's a waterproof cover option. ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Exactly what I've got, from the same seller! The actual mount to the bar is strong enough for this application (unlike others I have tried) and the case itself seems to be quite well made and doesn't vibrate about and cause mayhem.
The critisism I have is that the plastic screen is not as opaque as it could be and you will likely need to bring the brightness on the phone up quite a bit to be able to see it properly in daylight conditions. I have a tomtom in mine |

+1 - works really well and surprisingly good quality for the price.
Only downside is that with my Samsung Galaxy S3 in it and plugged in on charge, the charge cable has to stick out the side because the charge plug is a good inch long...however, I still have used it in heavy rain without a problem. ____________________ Bike history: Suzuki GSXF600, BMW F650, Honda Varadero, Suzuki V-Strom, Kawasaki Versys

I'm actually really interested in a mount for my S3 so i can use it as a satnav.. But I have no idea how I'd mount it because I have a fat yoke & clip-ons instead of straight handle bars.. Maybe superglue/sellotape/nails and a hammer will work
I used to use helmet speakers & listen to the directions, but fiddling with cables is a pain in the ass.
Also while on the subject of mounts, anyone know if I can get a tail bag for my bike or a tank bag?
I visited J&S to see if any tank/tail bags would fit my bike, but none of their tail bags would fit because my tail is apparently way too thin, and all their tank bags were magnetic (yzf r125 is very plastic) - So this is kind of a nightmare atm. I only want a dinky little thing to put like a can of coke/wallet/phone in and what not, none of those massive boxes. Any suggestions? |

Don't. Vibrations are a killer.
Use earphones.. Less distracting too. ____________________ Yamaha RXS 100 > Honda CD 250 > Honda Hornet 600 > Honda CBR 600RR > Yamaha RXS 100 > Kawasaki ZX6R J2 > Yamaha FZ1 |

Make sure you tether the case to the bike. The clamp on mine failed after a couple of months and I nearly lost my phone down the road ____________________ Past - 1988 honda revere 600, 1996 kawasaki gpz500s, 1999 Yamaha R6

Ram mounts
I had one for my Iphone 4 and Iphone 5. I use the Telferizer ball mount in my headstock nut. Does the job and you can angle it anywhere you want. I'll post a pic of the setup tomorrow after the footie.
Either way, the ram mount is also a handy way of mounting your tripod mount for your action cameras. I get some decent camera angles of my cockpit or the rearward view of me riding with it. ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1
