Before you even had a license or whilst on a CBT 50cc/125cc bike, what was the dream bike you wanted and did you ever get it?
Before being legally allowed on the road, I had always wanted an RS125 to start off on but they were out of my reach at the time. I got an Aprilia SR50 instead. I did get an RS125 but it was years later.
When thinking about my first big bike, I had always wanted a Movistar CBR600RR rep.
I never got round to owning one of these but I still like the look of them now.

I wanted so many, but quickly get bored
Wanted a ninja 250 (restricted licence), got one, it felt little and kite-like.
Wanted an MT03, got one, still have it, currently.
As for dream bike, I fancy a Monster, or a W800, or a ..... |

Bandit 1200
My first memory of bikes was a mates dad doing a fucking massive burnout on one in the garden. Was still at primary school at the time, it was noisy, there was LOTS of smoke & my mates mum went mental.
https://www.pitlane-motorcycles.com/images/motorcycle129.jpg
That colour.
Then I got with current other half about five years ago, two of her uncles had Bandits & did some fucking massive wheelies on em.
Then a cheap 600 one popped up so I bought it and it was a slow ill handling money pit. Tryed to fix it and failed...learned a lot mind.
Then borrowed a 1200 Mk2 & fell in love with em all over again. Admittedly it'd been ragged & crashed many times but dat engine...I'll likely buy one. Was everything I kinda hoped my 600 would be.

I've never been particularly interested in jizzing over specific bikes, I just discovered relatively late in life that I rather like riding 'em.
It occurs that eyeballs probably result in more bike sales than any other organ, although when you're riding them, it's backsides, hands, ears and necks that really matter. Kind of hard to get that across in a magazine wank-ad though. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

The black Triumph Bonne. Love the look of it, its meant to be slow, thumpy, and feel like an old mans bike. |

When I was little quite liked the Peugeot Speedfight, never went through the ped boi phase tho.
Lusted after an XR 125 for years for some reason (realistic aspirations perhaps? ), when I finally got one hated the thing from day one & pretty much everyday of the year I owned it.

When I was 15/16 I really wanted one of these:
https://www.bikez.com/pictures/rieju/2005/21831_0_1_2_rs1%20castrol_Image%20credits%20-%20Rieju.jpg
I had the slowest 50 out of all of my friends and the Reiju was supposedly the fastest geared 50 around so I guess that was the appeal.
When I passed my bike test in 2007 I got myself a TDR250, everybody over a certain age cooed over it which I think kept me happy with it for quite a while. In the end I needed something more reliable for commuting on. I didn't really yearn for another bike for a while.
I guess these days if I could afford any bike suited to the riding I do I would probably want a K1300S. ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |

When I first got interested in bikes when I was a kid I wanted a Honda XR600:
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/serenaur/clymer_zpsbc091184.jpg
And then later I wanted the XR650R when that came out. I ended up with a KLR600 which was a bit pants as the rear shock was well past it's best and I got it restricted to 33bhp. It was fun ripping around forest fire roads in North Wales with my mates though.
I've always wanted another trailie and I'm sure I'll get one at some point. I'd love a proper fast supermoto as well. And a motocross bike. And maybe an R1. And... ____________________ Now: '00 Kawasaki ZRX1100R - Past: '84 Yamaha DT125, '89 Kawasaki KLR600, '97 Yamaha XJ600N

I started riding long before I was old enough to have a licence; so while hacking an old pedal and pop about the fields, at an age smaller than my current shoe size, I wanted one of these:-
https://images.australialisted.com/nlarge/kawasaki_kx125_kx125_nbsp_1980_19461660.jpg
Upon discovering how often they needed new crank-shafts... I revised my aspirations, and progressing to TY125's I wanted one of these:-
https://motorsfolia.com/imgs/fantic/fantic-125/fantic-125-12.jpg
I briefly toyed with the idea of one of these:-
https://communities.zeelandnet.nl/data/yamaha/upload/images/yamaha-rd50mx-7.jpg
But, seemed a little bit pathetic, having been riding six years, and owning a couple of 250's, and when a DT50 came in PX when I flogged one of the 250's. That confiormed my idea that dirt bikes are best on dirt, and road-bikes best on road; so my aspirtions as far as road bikes went was for one of these:-
https://raresportbikesforsale.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/573-730x449.jpg
But some of my mates were trying to tempt me from the dirt onto tar, so I flirted with one of these for a bit:-
https://rmdmotors.com/wp-content/themes/rmdmotors/images/image.php?width=600&height=450;&image=https://rmdmotors.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/DSC083794.jpg
And had little aspiration towards road-bikes until I was at Uni, when broke, I needed cheap wheels and bought a Kawasaki AR, re-kindling interest. King-Kiddie then, 1990, was the Yamaha FZR1000 Egg-cup; but after ten years of frantic evolution in motorcycle design; I rather liked the idea of one of these:-
https://git.me/photo/2014/04/11/8788122523788227584/14498748628345053184/MOTO-GUZZI-MILLE-GT-1000CC-IN-CLEAN-AND-ORIGINAL-CONDITION-MOT-AND-TAX.jpg
60bhp, was singularly unimpressive for a 1000cc motorcycle, BUT... it's a GUZZI. They are big, push-rod cart-horses, and the design was over 20 years old then, and twenty odd years later, STILL not much different; so was a bike I promiced myself when I got my first proper job after Uni... as a 'forever' bike that wouldn't 'date'... they were pretty cheap too; £2999 new OTR ISTR, cheaper than a Suzuki RGV250! Trouble was, by the time I left uni... then by the time I got a job, Guzzi had decided that the reason they didn't sell in big numbers was that they were TOO cheap and presumed to be like Urals and stuff... crap. Thier solution then was to simply put their prices up to match Ducati's! so I couldn't afford one!
Now, curiously sanguine; very little really holds much 'wow factor' or 'must have' attraction; especially amongst what's in the current catalogues. Stuff that tends to interest me, and might actually get me a little exited; though probably not enough to hand over cold hard cash, lives in the classic world. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

I'm nearly 30, and was never interested in bikes, nor cars for that matter. My cars were a necessity, although I've always really wanted an old Mini. Since riding, again out of necessity as the car was too expensive to run, I've really got the bug. A guy living near me has a Yamaha XJR 1300 and I really fucking want one, they just look so cool imo.
