Sometimes it starts on the button, Monday->Wednesday it did this.
Then fires up as if there are no problems.
24h later it does it again, battery left on charge overnight just in case. Reading 12.87v across the terminals.
Any ideas?
Thanks
EDIT turned out to be a bunch of corroded wires and a bad battery, ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will. In the end, your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

'sticky' starter motor.
High resistance from worn brushes / contact ring.
Might be eeked out by stripping & cleaning the starter.
+ dont dismiss the battery. voltage on terminals is NO indication of how many amp-hours are in the battery.
An old battery can loose half its charge holding capacity, the Ah rating falling from, say 10Ah to 5Ah and so appear to charge really fast.
The 'ready' lamp on a charger is also no guide; usually only comes on when the current draw has reduced to a 'trickle'...
Starting puts hi-load on battery, drawing perhaps 30A or more, so a fully charged 10Ah battery would get flattened in 20min, but a tired battery might only have 5Ah in it, and asked to deliver 30A, just not be exited enough to deliver it; and with huge 'load' on it, basically gives up. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
