I'd concur with the 'flange' then - and a quick google shows similar items coming up with that. Unfortunately not with other useful words that could be tried.

It is definitely a flange but a specific name would be hard.

Oil cooler hose flange? Basically it could be any iteration of flange/hose/oil that the manufacturer decided.

It is also swaged onto the hose itself.

It's a 'flat ovoid thingy connector'.

OK. Main reason I ask is that I'm going to have to make up a set of oil cooler lines, and that's the fitting at one end of them. I guess I'll just take the original ones to Pirtek and see if they've got them.

Kinda surprised that the image didn't work for some of you: came up just fine on my PC, as well as on my phone over 3G.

:edit: Sod paying £16 per flange!

Bizzaraely, it started working fine as soon as Aff had uploaded it to imgur.

Could be DK have something anti-image-theft thing that stops you seeing the pic properly if you haven't got it from the web page it's supposed to be in, as plenty do have.
But that doesn't explain why it started working. Maybe there was just an issue with their servers for a bit.

Whatever you'd call it, it looks like it would make a nice turbo oil drain hose into the sump! Smile

Pirtek will make them, but if you thought 16 quid for an end fitting was expensive, lay something soft on the floor before you ask them what they charge, you'll probably faint!

The last time I got them to make up something for me, it was a PAS pipe for an old Isuzu Trooper, which was supposed to be available, but went indefinitely back order - list price £150 (which was farking extortionate anyway) Pirtek price £230, using the original solid parts of the line.

I did get a free pair of (very cheap) sunnies from them though Cool

Which bike is it for? I assume the NC24 could do away with the oil cooler entirely. No need for an oil cooler on a bike that doesn't work, and it won't help cool the bike when you chuck a match in the tank.

It is for the NC24, and I'm still hopeful that it'll work.

The primary reason that I'm unsure if it can be done away with is that the oil pump is different to the other NC13 engine-based bikes - it's got a beefier pump unit than the 30 or the 21, and I don't know if the constitutes required oil routing, or if it merely happens to be included. The diagram's not the clearest in the world - when it gets to the point where it describes the oil pickup for the cooler, it's a very confused image indeed.

I included the phonetic translations just a point of interest. They may be wrong, but I'm nowhere near fluent in Japanese. Hell, I wouldn't even class as successfully incompetent in Japanese.

I had a look through ebay etc before posting, always fancied one, but sadly now isn't the time.

If you do get one, I could probably do with a bracket making for the SM wheels for the 200 Wink. (Though I suspect I'll do as well functionality wise with a bit of plate steel and a welder/angle grinder!)
