So following on from this thread about XBMC, https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=3951787

I realised last night I have no HDMI ports left on my TV, it has 4 but all 4 are in use, typical.

I'm thinking a switch is probably the best route to take but after the experience my in-laws had with theirs I'm not convinced.

What are others using? I've seen setups where people have seemingly loads of devices yet no TV could have enough inputs to support them.

I am sure someone will say an AV Receiver, that's not going to work for me, though I won't rule it out.

Have you not answered your own question with the third link on that list?

Buy a/v receiver.
Have full on 5.1 DTS-HD sound.

Problem solved

Just browsing Amazon a little while back I was amazed at the amounts of LED TVs of 42" or so which only come with 2 HDMIs as standard, even name brands. We need more HDMI ports on TVs, not less. 3 is the minimum I can live with (TiVo, HTPC, Xbox 360).
