I think I already know the answer to this(shouldn't be an issue), but I call out to the Bcf techies.
Backstory.
Gsxr 750 k4, the bike has been off the road for a while (too long, new baby, no money etc).
I'm going to book it in for an mot tomorrow, gone through the Mot testers handbook. Everything works as it should, the bike should pass.
Problem being, turn ignition on, fuel pump doesn't prime, gives a c28 code, secondary throttle valve actuator(basically butterfly's gummed up with old fuel and lack of use) , cycle the kill switch a few times it does and starts normally.
Is the tester going to be an Arse about this if I prewarn him?
Or will an Fi code start the alarm bells ringing?
Itching to get back on the horse so to speak, is bureaucracy going to get in the way?
Tldr: Is an Fi light a MOT fail?
Cheers

It isn't a fail, however why don't you just lift the tank, remove airbox, pull the connectors apart and give them a decent clean along with the RH switch gear.
My 750Y had the C28 issue, was a dodgy green fuzzy mess on a connector block. |

I've had all that apart and cleaned it all, all manner of carb cleaner and contact cleaner has been splashed about under there.
The upper butterflies are a little stiff due to being sat for a while guessing old gummy fuel, they've freed off a lot, it just needs riding again and some use to free everything back up fully.
It's this issue that's throwing up the code at a guess as when you turn the ignition on. The butterflies go through their full range of motion to check sensors as you turn the key. I think the slight stiffness is confusing the ecu into thinking the sensor is guffed.
Lots of helpful replies so far ____________________ Cbt-23/09/07.....Theory-16/09/08.....Das passed 10/10/08.....
