Just by reputation I would be looking at the slave cylinder first. They were renowned for being short lived.
Not sure if you can get a rebuild kit for the master cylinder (Brembo generally don't do them these days), although generally the complete units are not that expensive to buy. Does the manual give any useful instructions on stripping the brake master cylinder? If so I would expect the clutch to be very similar (I am assuming on a bike that age it still have the ones with the built in fluid reservoir).
Do you have access to an alternative master cylinder?
