...and I need to get home to Worcester.

Bike's toolkit is pathetic, was going to take the sliding pin out and remove the pads but I've chewed the cap that goes over the pin (if you've seen a Nissin caliper you'll know what I mean)

Does anyone local have the tools so I can take the whole bloody thing off just to get home?

Can't you get a taxi? If it's a long way home then a taxi to shops and get a spanner and cable ties to hold brake out of way.

Try pushing bike backwards a few feet, worked for me then rode home not using back brake.

Could you undo the banjo/nipple to let the fluid out then lever the piston(s) back in with a screwdriver/bit of flat bar?

when this happened to my er5 front brake i found a few light blows with a hammer released it enough.

I'll try doing the same. It was too hot when I got to work, actually smoking a little.

If not, halfrauds is half a mile away, I'll pop over at lunch and buy a cheap socket set and zip ties.

My lad's goto tool out of the box. Closely followed by the angle grinder....and he's got a vehicle maintenance qualification Shocked

On topic I have tried the pushing backward trick. Released enough for me to move bike where I had more tools. I guess trial and error and luck if it's successful on every bike.

For Nissin calipers?

Anyway, with a combination of the caretakers hammer (using the stale, not the lumpy end, I'm not a heathen) and rocking it backwards and forwards I freed it and didn't use it on the way home.

Got it home and removed the chewed cap thing with lots of plus gas and an impact driver. On closer inspection the seal seems to be buggered. I just won't use it until I can get a new seal sorted. Basic tools now going in my bag in case I forget!

Anyway, I was referring to an over-tight lever (at the master cylinder), as this will block any backflow into the master cylinder. Causing brake seizure when it's hot.

I don't see how a brake calliper could seize while you were at work unless it began when it was hot.

Levers operate master cylinders. I never said brembo levers. Simply asked if it was a chinky knock off brembo master cylinder. Back in your cage you ginger bearded bastard.
