Posted: 09:03 - 26 Jul 2004 Post subject: I cannot believe how idiotic some car drivers are !! |
 |
|
Now...my time on the road so far has been pretty trouble-free...
a few teenagers standing in the road and staring at me and what not, but cars have been patient enough...a lot overtake and look at me, but I take it as a compliment ! HA
Anyway....my Fiance did his CBT yesterday, passed, and when he came home took my CG for a spin down some country lanes.
Upon arriving home he tells me that a man, driving a big Land Rover was approaching him on a long straight quiet road,..no other traffic on that road...just them....the LR driver was staring straight at him......then, as he gets closer to Fiance the LR SWERVED into my Fiances lane/path, and then swerves back at the last minute !!!!!!!!!!
WHAT THE HELL IS ALL THAT ABOUT ??
FUNNY ? FUNNY ? IS IT ?
Yes,....let's try and knock someone off their bike for the fun of it.
Maybe it was the fact he had L Plates on the bike...I don't know...all I know is I want to slap that mans head !!!!!!
I mean....next time my Fiance is driving HIS car, how would foolish man like us to try and kill his son/relative on their bike ?
We have always respected bikers when in the car...I just cannot comprehend this down-right lack of common sense and decency!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
end

Motorcyclists like that are quite aware that all it takes is one slip. However a lot of them do seem to have a deathwish.
I would say that you should not tar all bikers with the same brush, but admittedly I have done that to 4x4 drivers.
Maybe if you are such a fan of cages you should find a car forum however!
Seriously, there is a difference between filtering on the motorway and slightly intimidating some car drivers and a 4x4 driver deliberately driving AT a CG125 rider on L plates when it is all too obvious what the outcome would have been from 'one slip'.
Basically, the bikes are always more vulnerable, and if the biker is being a twat then he hurts himself. If a car driver is being a twat to a biker, then the biker gets hurt...
Its just a shame that so many of 'our kind' refuse to set an example to the car driver. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F

| Quote: | The 4x4 may have been swerving around a pothole or something, I know its common practice around here. |
Hang on i though the whole point of 4x4 was to go up and down massive hills, and along really muddy wet, slippery, surfaces.
Why would someone be bothered about a little pothole, if they are in a 4x4?
Yes 70 is the limit on motorways, but it is important not to annoy other road users.
Car/bike riders get annoyed FAR to easily. It takes a lot to get me annoyed on the road. Maybey becuase i have learned to become clamer to the fact. It is safer as less emotion is used, emotion clouds judgement. I can realise that some people can make mistakes.
If someone does something stupid, and i dont consider it as a "mistake", that will annoy me. But i do not get so annoyed that i defer from the action of riding.
When someone has down something wrong, I will let them know about it. I use a long blast of the horn. Sometimes a hand gesture, (but not an offensive one). I hope it will make them realise thay have done wrong.
That, and sometimes blasting away from them. |

They're not right in the head around here.
As I'm approaching this junction, some idiot always tries this trick. This morning it was a taxi. I take the approach to this junction very cautiously now after having had a few close ones.

A couple of weeks ago at the same junction; I just checked that the road was clear left, you have to be quite cautious as the road to the left bends back behind some buildings (out of frame). Did a life saver and made to pull out and some clown performs this classic manouver:

Erm, its /harder/ to get in and out of a 4x4 than it is a normal car. You have to climb up some steps ffs! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F
