I know this is dragging shit up a little bit, but hold on.

I posted this back in Feb when some cunt robbed his bike. Police couldn't find it and gave up on it. It never pinged up on ANPR cameras for reasons we couldn't understand and he left it at that.

However, he didn't lock it up in his girlfriend's garden and so MCE did their "Nah mate, not our problem, we're not paying out on it cause you're a mong innit" so he continued paying the 40-something quid a month on his finance (I know, I know... Laughing) and chalked it up to experience. He passed his A2 tests and bought a "characterful" GPZ500 Laughing Point being though, he still owns the bike. MCE don't.

Phone rang on Thursday, and PC Plod from Greater Manchester Police asked if he was the gentleman who'd had bike PK13DKN stolen in February. He was, and he expected them to say it'd been found burned out in a forest, exported to Eastern Europe, that sort of thing.

Turns out it's in exactly the same condition he last saw it in. Even more bizarrely.... it was found three fucking doors down in some scrote's garage (literally - it was robbed from number 61, scrote in question lives at 58). They'd robbed it, pushed it in there, gone on holiday for a month and forgotten about it Laughing Called the police themselves, claimed somebody had dumped a bike in their garage (Rolling Eyes) and they didn't know what to do with it, so left it in there.

He picks it up next week Laughing Least fucking ambitious thief ever.

I'm as baffled as you lot probably are but either way, these stories don't always end badly, considering most 125s end up burnt out on the local common, I think it's a decent outcome. Thumbs Up

Edit: carnt spell gud innit

Dat plot twist Confused Well, that was unexpected. Glad to hear it's okay and he's getting it back. The thief though, whoever it is, they need help.

A close eye needs to be kept on the residents of number 58, they can't be trusted.

TLDR version

His brother got his girlfriends neighbour to hide his bike so he could scam the insurance (and failed at that).

^ Old ass in non-NSFW thread, ban kthx.

They should be getting questioned about handling stolen goods, if a bike suddenly appears in your garage you don't leave it there for 9 months and do nothing.

Yeah that story makes literally no sense. Could have been the scrotes parents wanted it gone or something, maybe they realised after months of it sitting there their sons hard earned purchase was a bit suspicious Rolling Eyes

Anyway why did MCE refuse to pay out? Did he have security devices listed on his insurance?

Fuck no, I sat on his GPZ and immediately dropped it Laughing

I don't understand it either. Either way it wasn't ragged and set on fire, it seems to be in reasonably good nick. He's not entirely sure on the state of it but he's collecting it on a trailer next week. I'm going to take a stab at the ignition being fucked after they've tried to start it and failed but other than that no idea. Least it's not no panels as such for the cunts to pull off and wreck.

I think he had no security devices listed but the steering lock wasn't on (by his own admission) - they literally just wheeled it away, through 2 locked gates from her garden. They'd obviously been scouting it though as they knew when he'd be there. Hence MCE wouldn't pay because it was locked to nothing and didn't even have locked steering - not that that makes a lot of difference - you can break that in under 10 seconds anyway.

Or he was a mong and just didn't lock it up and a really retarded cunt robbed it without knowing what to do with it? Rolling Eyes Not only that it's financed so he'd get exactly zero from the insurers anyway.

I have no idea what's happening with the scrotes but I would assume PC Plod would like a word with them about it. He's not been to Manchester to sort it out (and has since split up with said girlfriend).

and thats where they have you and won't pay out, if you admit you hadn't put the steering lock on or made a reasonable effort to secure you're property they won't pay, as they've got it covered in the small print.

That would make sense. Unless you is dumb enough to tell the insurer you didn't lock the bike.

I'd be asking where it said in my policy that I had to lock the bike up, of course after actually reading it Smile

Maybe you should read your policy then. Mine is fairly clear on this. I've now got a sold secure disk lock which I have a receipt for, I mean use every time I stop.

When asked if it was locked up, why was the answer not "Yes I always lock it up"

How the fuck are they going to know any different?
