Right Ive been trying to bleed my brakes on a 1997 zx6r f3 I bought some new brakes because the old calipers were knackered, The new ones didnt have the electrical connection so I used te old master cylinder, Anyway I attached the new hoses and caliper to the old master cylinder and tried to bleed them, fluid came through but I can still bring the lever to the bar without feeling any resistance so Im a bit stuck, any ideas?

You still have air in your system. What you can try it to tap the pipes, sometimes bubbles get stuck to the pipe and tap the calliper as well.

Try bleeding it again, it can take a while.

Do you have one of the hoses looped over the back of the front mudguard? If so,it is quite likely that there is air trapped in the top of the loop.If you remove the caliper and can bleed it with the hose straightened upwards, you should be able to get rid of the air.Might take two people to do this as it can be awkward.

As for the master cylinder, try and get this pointing slightly downward.Pull the lever in about 20mm at a time and look for air bubbles rising through the bleed holes in the bottom of the reservoir.Keep doing this until no more bubbles appear, then bleed normally.

There are a few good videos on youtube that are worth watching Wink

Is it the 4 pot Tokico things on lots of Kwaks? They are famously irritating. What Fizzer suggested worked for me with them on my ZZR though they still go spongy again quicker than you'd expect.

Reverse bleed from the caliber with a massive syringe??

That's how I eventually got my ZX brakes working properly.
