I had my first off in almost 3 years of riding.

Got knocked off by a mong turning into me from opposite lane. Said mong then proceeded to drive off while I was still on the ground, slightly winded and mildly shocked.

Caught the whole thing on my trusty helmet cam, including his plate. Popo are on his case, but chances are he'll claim he wasn't driving.

No mention-worthy damage to me. Bike took the hit to right fairing and fell on left side. Left fairing, cowl, crash bung, gear peg, indicator, bar end all need replacing. As the bike is only worth a couple grand at best I reckon it'll be written off.

Insurance is picking up my bike on Monday and am getting an ER6N as courtesy bike.

He stopped after the collision, then as I was on the ground (probably after about 10 seconds) he reversed and drove around me to gtfo of there.

I take it you called the police? Chances are if he drove off he has no insurance.

Yeh got police involved straight away. Confirmed via my insurance that his car is insured and they'll be chasing them for reimbursement. I'm only TPFT so the fact that they've already organised assessment/repair of my bike means they're comfortable the 3rd party's cover will pay up. Plus with the video footage it's pretty hard to deny liability.

Glad nobody got injured Thumbs Up although hopefully the driver will be baton-raped (no lube) for fleeing the scene of an accident.

Private vid time, can't harm your case, good for lulz and karma.

Good that you're OK, although don't write anything off as temporary stiffness or bruising, get yourself to the sawbones.

Well spotted, you've finally killed that damn right dull piece of machinery. Bigger louder bike would have saved you, GSXR time.

If he denies being behind the wheel then the registered keeper on the v5 can be held accountable. I would expect the police will arrest him.

Vid will most certainly follow as soon as I can crop it down to a more manageable size. It's currently almost 3Gb of footage.

Am booked in to see GP tomorrow morning. I am feeling a bit of stiffness on left shoulder where I hit the ground but nothing to stop my day to day.

I've quite grown fond of the ninja 250, but alas it must go and it's probably a good time too. looking to pick up a MT-09 at the bike show if I can get 0% or near that.

My Cam isn't the best at night time footage, so although I did see the ugly mug of the shitbag that mowed me down, it didn't come out on camera.

Popo took the footage and have passed on copies to insurance and solicitors. Now to wait and see what excuses he comes out with.

Vid is uploading to YT now btw. Thumbs Up

I would love to hear that guys excuse for hitting you and driving off, honesty has gone the way of the dodo. Glad you are ok though and I hope police prosecute him for leaving the scene of an accident!

Isn't it if they speak to him within 24 hours he can get out of the leaving the scene charge? Ask the Popo to hold fire.

The guy who had me off stopped, got out, talked, gave me details and the copper who was after him was still going to charge him with leaving the scene without providing details or some-such charge. He said that because he hadn't provided ALL the details he was required to it was still an offence of failing to provide.
