I'm guessing yes, as it's a different category of vehicle. But just to confirm.

Kind of sucks to have to do it all again for the sake of a few questions like minimum tread depth.

The real answer is maybe, depends how long you have held your bike license. If you have an old license with Cat.B1 on it you don't have to do a theory for a car license.

InB4 everyone says, 'I didn't know that' Laughing

The problem with having a car is that the windows steam up and you have to scrape ice off the windows. The plus side is that the car has a heater and a radio but maybe you should just buy some heated grips and some base layers?

I have heated grips and gloves, but I'm ex forces with a cold injury. Not that it stops me riding at the moment, but I really don't want to ride in below freezing at 1AM (I do shifts) or during rush hours, people are terrible drivers round here. My left hand spends about 20% of the time on the clutch and 80% of the time waving car drivers to back off.

What about leasing a car then just over the winter? The problem with cheap runabouts is usually the tax unless you go diesel. Newer cars with low emissions are £0 or £30.

You'll have learned that any idiot can be cold and wet.
