made me laugh

That delicious viscous brown fluid, when mixed with the salty bacon and buttery bread...
It's like an angel crying on your tongue.

Ha yeah, the Americans getting confused by a bit of 'Tommy K' was amusing. Very Happy

It led me to this:

Surely she is just taking the piss, a sarcastic article to show how vacuous Daily Mail readers are?

What baffles me is that British people actually worry what puzzles non British people about Britain. Does any other nation actually care what foreigners think about them?

Of course they do. In that there is a translated saying that when you are overseas you are essentially a diplomat and representative for your people. Therefore make a good impression.

This was impressed heavily into the 1960s and 70s Chinese who came to the UK. This does not apply to the rich overseas Chinese today who are often there because of mummy or daddy's money.

Generally because many of the Chinese expected that one day a far right government come to power and would exterminate us 1968 and Enoch Powell's speech for instance gave a lot of people the chills.

This of course is also due to the fact that the 36 surviving clans which made up the majority of Chinese migration of the 50s 60s and 70s have been subject to multiple failed extermination policies. It's why our homes and villages were built like fortresses AND we did not practice foot-binding and men women and children were required to fight.

I find that fascinating. It's a bit like Bill Bryson's "Notes From a Small Island" but with lots of authors instead of one. In fact, properly edited, you could probably make it into quite an entertaining book.
